Charlie's Scream Team Halloween
Steve did The Clown and I took a wack at Murray. Freshly washed and basically having little clue about prosthetic make-up in general we dove in... |
First, armed with our foam latex appliances and spirit gum (one of many available methods of application) we went to work glueing the pieces to our faces. Steve is applying The Clown for the first time; Murray is going back on my face for the third time within one week which is why it looks kind of pre-colored. |
Having started at the nose and worked our way out to the edges of our faces the appliances are now completely glued in place... I really need to let my hairline receed a little or just get a larger forehead. |
Using red rubber sponges and liquid latex or flesh latex from a local theatrical makeup store we began hiding the edges of the appliances. Light coats of latex were followed with a pat of powder to remove all tackiness. |
We delved into the makeup sponges and paint from the Screamteam's Makeup kit and applied a base color to every visible area... ears and neck included. Pieces of liquid latex hang off my neck to become additional wounds later. |
Switching from sponges to brushes we went to work on our shadows and highlights to give our new faces some depth.
We then stippled color everywhere texturing the makeup a bit and creating more subtle shadows and highlights. |
Powdering Clouds of white powder billowed everywhere as we loaded up our puffs and pressed it into the greasy makeup soaking up the oil and setting it in place. Any excess powder brushes off easily with a good brush. |
Some final touches. A layer of K-Y Jelly over the entire face to add a light sweat sheen, enamel coloring for rotting teeth and hair color. They say the clothes make the man, so of course, being intelligent, we let our better-halves pick ours. |
Happy Halloween and thanks to Scott,& everyone at the Scream Team for making it easy and fun!
